From the recently renovated, historic Yale Bowl (with a seating capacity of over 64,000) to more intimate venues, the New Haven area is a sporting event planner’s dream. This area of Connecticut is ideally suited for football, golf, soccer, tennis, baseball, track, softball, basketball, volleyball, lacrosse, and much, much more.

Conveniently located between New York City and Boston, New Haven is easily accessible via I-91 and I-95, MetroNorth and Amtrak trains, Tweed New Haven Regional Airport, Bradley International Airport (Windsor Locks, CT) and is a short commute from all three New York area airports.

When you need a break from the action, New Haven has quality hotels, fine dining and a wide-variety of attractions to meet the needs of your athletes and their guests.
5. Greater New Haven Convention and Visitors Bureau Event Services
- Provide information on area venues and facilities, hotels, and local sports organizations
- Arrange site inspections of sports venues and hotels
- Secure proposals and room blocks from area hotels
- Serve as a liaison between the event rights-holder and the local host organization or venue
- Assist local organizations and venues with the event bidding process
- Identify and oversee housing service/system that best fits the needs of event
- Provide tailored maps and directions for travel between venue(s), hotels and area airports
- Provide free collateral materials to event planners and participants, such as Visitors Guides, maps, dining guides, calendars and more
- When appropriate, assist with welcome signs and banners in participating hotels or other area locations
- Track total hotel room pick-up generated by event
- Provide area information booths, staffed by volunteer New Haven "Ambassadors," to answer visitor questions and distribute helpful materials. (Service typically limited to large sporting events only)
