Event Details
Hosted by Town Green District (@DowntownNHV), the New Haven Night Market is downtown NHV’s evening bazaar, gathering all to celebrate the vibrant New Haven and Greater New Haven community’s entrepreneurs, art, music,
food, drink, culture and more! The New Haven Night Market returns to downtown NHV’s historic 9th Square Neighborhood Friday, May 12th, 5-10PM!
This spring, the New Haven Night Market will include over 90 vendors – artists, entrepreneurs, businesses and organizations – sharing their curated wares, food, drink, art, music, culture, causes & beyond! Partnering with the event, 9th Square Historic Neighborhood businesses will also open their doors, some offering special one-night-only “Night Market Promos” to guests.
For the first time, the Night Market grows beyond its past footprint, expanding to take place (in addition to Orange from Center to George) along Orange from Court to Chapel. This addition to the Market not only allows for increased vendor space, but allows the inclusion of a dozen additional brick and mortar businesses for guests to eat at and shop with, including Strange Ways who will host a Flair Fair Pop-Up, curating artists who specialize in wearable art and home goods!
Another feature will be a preview of The Yard at 360 in partnership with 360 State Apartments! Utilizing the currently vacant lot at the corner of Chapel and Orange, enjoy a preview of what is to come for the space. Shop from additional street vendors, play lawn games at the Game Zone, enjoy crepes from the Crepe Cart or post up at a picnic table surrounded by flowers at The Yard! Later announcements will be made regarding the evolution of the space.
Some Night Market highlights include:
– NHV & spring-themed flash tattoos on-site in Pitkin Plaza with Showoff Ink Artistry
– Open Late Exhibit by Mark Breslin at Artspace
– Night Market poster & tote bag merchandise available created by 4 local artists (see website)
– DIY Button-Making Station with 9th Square Apartments & Beacon Communities
– Bookmark-Making Station with Ives Squared, NHFPL
– Dunk for D.E.S.K. donation-based dunk tank by the Downtown Evening Soup Kitchen
– Moon Photo Op painted by artist @marshunart
– The Yard at 360 preview pop-up with lawn games and vendors by 360 State Apartments
The Night Market Stage will feature the following amazing performances: 5PM – The Kreative Spectrum | 6PM – The Nu Haven Kapelye | 7PM – O.K. Company 8PM – Model Decoy | 9PM – K-Pop dance group performance by Yale MVM, followed by DJ Shaki
The Night Market prides itself with being a family-friendly, (leashed) pet-friendly inclusive space for all. FREE to enter. Food, drink and retail items available for purchase. Must be 21+ with ID to purchase and consume alcohol. No
