The Shubert Theater in New Haven opened on December 11, 1914. It has since hosted over 600 pre-Broadway tryouts, including over 300 world premieres and 50 American premieres. Known as the Birthplace of the Nation’s Greatest Hits, the theater has been graced by many famous actors such as Humphrey Bogart, Spencer Tracy, Katharine Hepburn, Jimmy Stewart, and others. The Shubert brings the best of the performing arts to its legendary stage, offering a variety of performances including solo artists, family-friendly shows, dance, comedy, and more. It also provides educational and engagement programs that are accessible to all members of the community.
