In 1968, the basement performance venue Yale Cabaret was established by students of the David Geffen School of Drama at Yale. It has since continuously operated, hosting a wide variety of performances and launching the careers of numerous renowned artists, including Meryl Streep, Angela Bassett, and Paul Giamatti. Each new generation of School of Drama students brings their talent and energy to the Cabaret.
