East Haven

Originally known as Iron Works Village, East Haven was incorporated in 1785. Located along Long Island Sound, beach living is one of the many assets the town has on offer. The town green hosts a lively summer concert series with visitors and locals alike enjoying music on Sunday afternoons.

The town’s Shoreline Trolley Museum offers a living history of the trolley route between New Haven and Branford from 1907-1947. In 1947, the museum immediately assumed operation of the line, making this the oldest continuously operating suburban trolley line in the United States and is on the National Register of Historic Places. The Shore Line Trolley Museum continues to operate restored trolleys over a 1.5 mile segment of the Branford Electric Railway.
