New Haven Chalk Art Festival

Join us Saturday, October 3, 2026 (rain date
October 4) from 12–4 p.m., as more than 60 professional and amateur artists
from across Connecticut and the region transform Downtown New Haven’s sidewalks
and streets into vibrant works of art throughout the Broadway District.

Bring the whole family to enjoy a lively day featuring a
Family Fun Zone with free chalk for children, complimentary crafts, face
painting, glitter tattoos, Italian ice, kettle corn, live music, and exclusive
offers from local retailers and restaurants. Visitors can view and vote on
chalk art designs, and participants compete for prizes and gift cards from
local businesses.

The festival takes place on Broadway Island, along Elm
Street, and at Broadway Civil War Monument Park. Free all-day parking is
available at the 150 York Street Garage with validation at The Shops at Yale
tent.
