On Saturday, November 29 at 8 P.M., the estimable Orchestra New England will usher in the holiday season with its annual “Concert of Mufick” in the style of the time of the Revolutionary War. This is the 46th year of a tradition that brings alive the music of composers popular in the 1780s – new star Mozart and old masters including JS Bach, Telemann, and Handel. The concert is held at the historic United Church on the Green at the corner of Temple and Elm Streets. A festive pre-concert dinner takes place at 6pm The Elm City Club, just across Elm Street.

Maestro James Sinclair will lead performances of Mozart’s Symphony No. 36 in C Major, Handel’s Alcina ballet selections, Telemann’s Concerto in F for four violins, and Haydn’s Lyre Concerto No. 3 in G. The concert features arias from tenor Sam Denler, in his final year of study at the Yale School of Music, and a solo from esteemed organist Walden Moore, formerly of Trinity Episcopal Church on the Green.

Colonial Concert XLVI Tickets: $50 reserved seating; $30 general admission; $5 Student Rush tickets are available at the door. A festive dinner takes place at 6pm across the street at the Elm City Club with tickets $58 per person.
